Tongala business man Peter Greenham has been recognized for the outstanding community support his company provided to drought affected communities throughout the region.

The Corporate Citizen of the Year award was presented by Shire of Campaspe chief executive officer Wayne Harvey at a ceremony on Tuesday evening.

Deakin Ward Councillor Neil Repacholi said the award also recognized HW Greenham & Sons ongoing and long term involvement in the local community, and its valued support of local sporting groups, community groups and events.

“There are some outstanding people in our region who continue to provide support and assistance to others in need and to community causes that make our society a better place,” Cr Repacholi said.

“Mr Greenham is a most worthy recipient of this prestigious award.”

Mr Greenham’s good corporate citizenship award coincides with HW Greenham & Sons awarding of a $10,000 scholarship to enable a student to undertake tertiary studies in the dairy or cattle industry fields.

“This is an annual scholarship the company awards, which again recognises Greenham’s support to the community, and which we congratulate and thank them,” Cr Repacholi concluded.
