THEY might not be a typical retail business but Greenham Tasmania has showed its support with a cash injection for the CircularHead Chronicle's Invest in Your Future - Buy Local campaign.
Greenham Tasmania livestock controller Graeme Pretty said the financial support for the campaign is about giving back to the community. "Even though we're not a retailer as such we'd like to support the business community of Circular Head," he said. "All we ask in return is for the local people to support us and local products."
Mr Pretty said he is a big believer in looking out for one another in the community and realising that sometimes price is not what shopping is all about. "People think by going along the coast they're getting a better deal but they're not really, because the local businesses employ local people." Mr Pretty said he is impressed with the campaign and its endeavours. "Sometimes we don't realise what we've got 'til it's gone.We all need to be conscious of keeping this community alive. "Being one of the biggest businesses in thedistrict we think it is only right we support the campaign and put our money where our mouth is".
Circular Head Chronicle client relations manager Jodie Saville said she is very appreciative of Greenham's cash injection. "A promotion on this scale requires a lot of time and a large amount of money," she said. "We are delighted that Greenham decided to come on board as a major sponsor. And with no real benefit to themselves." The Buy Local campaign is now in its second week with the first weekly prize draw of a $500 gift voucher won by Erin Blake. A very excited Ms Blake said she "had never won anything before in her life, except $23 on Tattslotto once".
Every week a $500 gift voucher will be won by a lucky individual and all you have to do is make a purchase at a participating business and complete the entry form provided.
