BUILDING began last week at the Greenham Tasmania factory in Smithton in what is estimated to be a $2 million renovation. Greenham Tasmania managing director Peter Greenham said, "we're upgrading the boning room, freezing and also small amount on the slaughter floor."
The renovations began last week and the company hope they will be finished by the end of September. Mr Greenham said they have been planning for the renovations approximately six to 12 months in advance. Half of the project is being funded by a grant from the north west and northern Tasmania innovation and investment fund.
Mr Greenham said the company are hoping to employ 20 to 25 people when renovations are complete mostly in slicing and boning room.
