NEARLY 30 new full time equivalent jobs will be created in Circular Head after four local businesses had grants approved from the north west and northern Tasmania Innovation and Investment Fund.
Greenham Tasmania has received $1,133,750 to expand its Smithton meat processing facility to increase its capacity by 40 per cent.
This is said to create a total of 25 new jobs.
Badenach Enterprises Pty Ltd was the next highest Circular Head grant recipient with $97,811 to create a mould to build 18 metre displacement fishing vessels; this is stated to create two new jobs.
And creating another two jobs is West Winds (Tas) Pty Ltd who will use their $50,000 grant to purchase and install additional quail farming infrastructure to increase the capacity and efficiency of existing west winds.
Jamala Press Pty Ltd T/A Print Domain and the Circular Head Chronicle also received a $87,845 grant to purchase the latest digital technology digital printing equipment to establish a digital printing branch in north west Tasmania that will service digital print clients around Australia; this is aimed to create three new jobs.
Overall the NWNTIIF grants will provide a total of $16,071,500 across the north west and north to assist businesses and help create 431 new jobs.
